FGM Conference - Educate to Eradicate FGM will take place on Friday 6th March 2015 at College Court, Knighton Road, Leicester, LE2 3UF ***
International Women’s Day (IWD) will take place on 8th March 2015 at Highfields Centre, 96 Melbourne Road, Leicester LE2 0DS ***
On 24th and 25th February, 2015, at 7.30pm, V Day Leicester will present a two-night only benefit reading of Eve Ensler’s award winning play The Vagina Monologues at The Firebug Bar on Millstone Lane, Leicester, LE1 5JN***
The talk “inspirational actions to move forward in order to help Somali women/girls gain their independence” will take place on Tuesday 17 February 2015 at 7 p.m, at Stoneycroft Hotel, 5-7 Elmfield Avenue, Leicester, LE2 1RB***

“Ka Hortag…”

is an awareness event aimed at Somali youth and their parents, to raise awareness of the troubles they are facing in order to tackle the problem before it is too late. This event will take place on 22 June 2014 at 1 pm at St. Matthews Centre, 10 Malabar Road, Leicester, LE1 2PD, UK.


This event will include:

- Keynote speakers, who are inspirational speakers

- People who have broken through the barriers and become successful

- Current youth workers, who are presently working on tackling such issues

- Survivors, who have managed to overcome their difficulties from their past



A plenary discussion will take place to exchange knowledge, wisdom and information regarding this issue.



Career fairs will also be available on the day of the event.

Youth & Parent Event (2014) “Ka Hortag…” Empty Ka Hortag

This event was very informative. It helped me understand the challenges the youth and parents face today. It was interesting to hear that some of the speakers had similar issues that they'd tackled, and this in turn has motivated me to overcome my difficulties. I'm looking forward to attending more events hosted by this organisation.
